Branding an Abe Lincoln-Inspired Gastro-Pub
Lincoln’s Pub
Located on the 100 block in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Lincoln’s Pub is a gastro-pub named for Abraham Lincoln’s 1867 visit to the area. The meat and beer-centric pub needed a weathered, worn, and established brand identity system to compliment the robust menu and industrial look of the restaurant. Inspired by the penny and Civil War-era type, the hand drawn and lettered logo along with the brand elements carries the tested and true qualities of the hearty food served in the pub. logo and logo variations
The logo is inspired by Abrahams Lincoln’s 1867 visit to the area where the restaurant lies. We based the illustration and logotype on similar Civil War-era elements.
brand elements and branded materials
To create brand cohesiveness we worked on a set of icons and illustrations that would permeate across all branded materials.
signage
The restaurant had multiple facades facing the public, all of which we covered. We worked with local creators to have a mural painted, dimensional lettering installed, and a three foot wide copper sign constructed.
